Selected group 2 when I booked - Focused decided to run a combination of beginners and intermediates in group 1... Annoying as once you get into the groove, and find a good pace, you are held up by a mass of beginners in some of the corners. But, other than that, it was a good day and I brought the bike home in one piece! The 1000 is a bit heavy in the tight corners - there's a sharp left hander (last one before the start / finish) where the bikes weight didn't help but it performed great and just as fast as the 600's in the sweepers.

Lot's of crashes as well but for once it wasn't me

Diablo Corsa III's were good as well - lots of grip...

Doing Snet later this month. Which place was catching people out?

The Esses I think...

YOu come round Corum Curve into Russell's then accelerate up the Start/Finish straight.

Most common place i would say is Corum Curve, but the Esses and then into the Bomb Hole can catch you out.

Did you enjoy Riches, the very very fast right hander at the end of the start finish straight. For me this is one of the most enjoyable corners in the UK. Always remeber the first time out in the fast group and just started braking when a aprilia 250 came past me

Then

Changed up a gear wobble

Then braked and still made it round.

I knew then needed more entry speed.

Hi there, yeah, I kept myself right over to the left so managed to get a great line turning late into the corner. At least, it looked good to me

Yes .. a good day ruined when someone dumped oil on the line all the way through corners 3 and 4 -- kinda killed the speed through there :-)

Mostly a good day, but whats with the 3 sighting laps in the morning to "warmup" - bike, tyres, rider then bring to back to the pits for you to be sat waiting to let everything go cold again? Daft policy if you ask me... the first session was 2 laps - hardly value for money !

Weather was great though eh :-)

Yeah, I was having a little tussle with my mate on his 750 - he crusied through the oil where I thought of my wallet!

Odd and annoying about the sighting laps - do they do that in the evening sessions as well?

Think alot of us were nervous of the oil slick -- be better in a few days.

No idea, thats an Focused Events thing only I think ... certainly Hottrax and No Limits running something much more "normal" -- expect its someones idea of a safety feature ;-)

i can remember seeing 160mph down the revett straight on a gsx-r 1000 (k1) then overshooting the corner completely! served me right though, had no problem braking from 150+mph just wanted to see 160 on the speedo! but it's great being able to do all that legally and in relative safety. trackdays rock and I think snett still has the longest straight in the country right now.

Didn't realise Snett has the longest straight - what is annoying is the lack of left handers so I also loose my confidence on the two lefts because I'm worried the tyre has no heat. It's not so much a fear of crashing as a fear of telling my wife I'll be spending another £1K on fixing it!

The right hand side of my tyre looks pretty melted - I ran 34 rear, 32 front...
