Strange water leak

It's a LONG story, and possibly more of a drastic thing than you want to do. (See my thread in "Projects"
As a temporary measure, I stuck a length of door seal from an old car in place of the original window seal. It was almost the right shape and a little bigger than the old one. It seemed to work.
On another note, the seat runners don't like getting wet and they have a habbit of seizing up with rust when wet. My driver's seat base was nearly rusted through too!

Is the door seal pinched in "properly" twice at the door sill?

I had a leak only into the bit behind the passenger seat which was cured by remaking the "pinched bit".

The back shelf may feel dry, but push your fingers well into the corner with the rear bulkhead.
What happens is the roof becomes porous and water soaks through, runs down the panel behind the carpet and around the corner seam to find the low point where it then runs in one or both rear seat wells.
This is what happen on mine. Resealed with Thompsons and all snuff dry again.

Thanks for all the help gents.By coincidence,i decided to refurb my roof this afternoon,then thought exactly the same thing,roof leaking.
Dropped restorer round his place,hope it sorts out problem.
Hello Martin,hope alls going well with the house?Will introduce you to my neighbour whose car it is.430 precat in very similar colour to yours,nice car.
I feel a Woodman run coming on,maybe see you there.

Had a look on the way home from work and the back pinch is practically where the door seal goes horizontal (so quite far back). I'll try and remember to take some photos tonight.
