Targa window seals
Discussion
Hi chaps,
Does anyone know the where I can get some Targa seals from? I've seen some on Clever Trevor but they're the later slide in type. Mine simply stick to the recess in the sides of panel.
I'm sure Woolies sell the correct seal but I'm unsure what the profile looks like, and I won't be able to check until the weekend.
Other option is to buy the rails for the later type seals and do it that way. Is it possible to retro fit these in place of the earlier type?

err, actually I haven't got around to fitting the new seals yet. Tomorrow or Saturday should see it done though. I'll let you know how it goes if you don't mind waiting.
Ummm.... yes. Been there done that. Got the gap to prove it.
You can't get the old type seals so if you want to replace them, you need to fit the later type. But then you need the rails and spacers and seals. You can't actually get the old type, I've rung Woolies and checked the catalogue, and they're definitley not available. Beware though, I put the new types on and there is a huge gap now.

I forgot about this thread! Didn't have time to do anything at the weekend on it.
Yes GJR that's exactly what I need, thanks. I'll make some phonecalls and see what's available.
David H, I had to get bits from different people, depending on who had what.
Invoices here aren't too helpful though.
From David Gerald was a Roof Seal Retainer Strip at £6.45ea
From Racing Green was a Roof Seal Retaining Strap at £7.50ea
Can't find an invoice for the actual seal although I'm sure I remember a conversation with CleverTrevor for them.
You'll need 3 bits. The rubber seal, the metal strip they fit into, a nylon spacer. The nylon spacer to be honest is a complete waste of about £20 if you can lay your hands on some sort of black nylon strip about 5mm thick which you can cut to size to match the metal strip because the pre-drilled holes don't align with the metal strip anyway.

Good information barreti, much appreciated. I'll get the spacers at work.
Did you have a gapping problem like Wildfire?
