I know some may dislike graffiti, but i find some to be true street art.
Just wondering what ph thinks of these:

Comments and criticism welcome

i agree that there is some really very impressive graffiti and i dont mind that one bit. what i dislike is the massive amount of "tagging" that goes on near where i live whereby people use no skill to mark their presence and make an area look terribly run down and repeat it even if it is painted over.

the graffiti in your pictures is very good.

Yeah, the graffiti that interests me is more of the mural style. The ones in my photos were part of a project to make run down garages look better.

I find graffiti can be a modern and vibrant art.

But as said, people just tagging places/ things I personally see no point to and also find that it can make a place look run down, grotty to use a word.

Your pictures are of the former.

I was in London for a day out last week, on the south bank under the Royal Festival Hall there was an area taken over by graffiti artists, skateboarders and bmx'ers. Only have a point and shoot but thought it gave some great photo opportunities. Here are a couple of my efforts, I quite like them.

As I live in the talentless void that is the west midlands the local "artists" don't even have enough skill to write their names. The tags near me are spray paint over a card template.

Linda Barker has a lot to answer for.

certainly some can look great - I can't say either of these are the best and I definately don't agree with one of their claims
Both are scans from 20 year old slides..
