Quite fancy upgrading the headlights and was wondering if anyone has bought and fitted these kind of things?
Is it possible to get them for the lo and the high beam on a T350 for instance?
Ta!

Ta! So the H7 bulb is for the main beam. Is it possible to get them for the low beam as well, as this would look best if all the lights were the same colour? Is it legal too?

Actually H 7 Bulbs are identical on low and high beam - it-s all the reflectors... On the T 350 you have the Projector lamp for low beam and the other one with the sidelight in as high beam
HID does not go further or anywhere else then your previous light- unless you upgrade to reflectors as well - it just makes the optimum out of what you have- brighter, better dark bright contrast wider field of high intensity...

Most people recommend only the to upgrade the low beam (over 90 % of your driving time - unless you live far out - on a private lane)
If you wanted to upgrade both you have to buy two sets (probably not worth it- H7 Ultrabright philiips lamps for high beam could probably be an interesting alternative- as you have the wheels off anyway)

Fit to low beam- you will be impressed- its a huge difference

If you search more on ebay you will find BOSCH HID conversions for as low as 80 pound- do not want to post link here as Ted might not like it- but pm me and I will post you- was reliable fast service...thumbup

They're fakes straight out of China. BOSCH don't even make aftermarket HID conversion kits. They're some random HID kit put into a box with BOSCH written all over it.

If you want to do the proper XENON HID upgrade rather than 'superbright' Xenon-look bulbs, it might be worth contacting specialist company HIDS4U ( www.hids4u.co.uk ). They seem to specialise in this area and spend a lot of time, by all accounts, sorting out ballast, voltage, ecu problems etc. with different models. I have no idea whether they do TVRs or not - but let us know if they do!!

Got them for my BM and it's a really good quality piece of kit and pretty simple to fit - about 2 hours with a slow cautious 'mechanic' like me!! scratchchin

The difference is impressive.

Hope this helps.

I booked my Tam in to have the Xenon HID conversion done. They rang me up after getting half way through the job to say that there was not enough space between the new light bulb unit and the arches. Not sure if differnt kits are different sizes or weather there is an easy way around this. If not it might be something to think about. Has anyone else had this problem and know of a way around it as I still really want it done? I also believe the 02 Tamora is H4, is this correct?

My 03' Tam has H4 bulbs. I know cos I just changed them from the standard to the 'Philips X-Treme Power' ones (£33 from powerbulbs).

IMO its not worth spending so much money on the HID bulbs when these are almost as good and cost so little. Besides, its a really simple job you can do yourself.

I know what you mean. Being impatient I bought the bulb upgrades like yourself (H7) to see what they were like. The car was in for work, so I asked them to pop the bulbs in whilst it was there. It was then when he pointed out that it said H4 on the glass and recomended the propper Xenon conversion. Would it hert to try the H7 bulbs that Ive got to see wether they are good enough?

Sounds good, think i might give them a try!
Do they give a crisp, white light? Plus i notice Powerbulbs are doing free sidelight bulbs (W5W) if you order the x-treme power ones. Would these be the right size for the T350?

Cheers,
Chris.

The sidelight bulbs dont fit I'm afraid.

Yes the light dose seem to be much whiter than the originals.

Like I say, the Tam uses H4's but I can comment on the T350. Have a look at the general info sticky at the top of this forum, I think it says in there.

Does anyone know what fitment/size the sidelight bulbs are for the T350?
The GeneralFaq only says 5w.

I'd love to, but i'm just as big a scaredy-cat. Probably going to get the garage to fit them next time it's in because unfortunately i don't have a jack for the car and i think you have to take the wheel off to get into the access panel!
I'll check with the garage first though as to the size/fitment of the sidelights.
