I'm thinking about having Cambridge OPC put in a rear cage and harnesses in the GT2 (which I'm collecting Monday, BTW)
I like the look of the stainless steel one in the GT3 I tried out. What other options are there? Obviously the main thing is that it stops the car from going flat if it hits something and that it holds the top parts of the harnesses.
What else do I need to know?

The rollcage also stiffens the chassis. Bolted in allows for easy removal whereas welded is strongest and chassis has greater stiffness as a result. Easier to rwrite-off the chassis with welded in rollcage as crash energy does not dissipate so easily. Bolted in is probably the best option.
I've also been pondering whose or which to buy and personally like the look of the Carbon Cage here www.designtek.eu/pages/products_porsche_rollcage.aspx
It may be a tad more expensive than the usual Steel Cages but with the rear cage weighing in at just 4.5kg compared to the 38kg mass of the OE Steel Cage it seems very attractive.
Its also TuV approved and claimed to be every bit as strong as the traditional Steel Cage.
HTH.

I'd be keen to know if that would pass any race scrutineering!
I'm sure Timbo will buy one for his RS soon though so he can be the guinea pig. Besides they'd match his wheels.
