Number plate lights

Hi all,I think my car was fitted with the same number plate lights as the Chim,any idea what thery are off

Does anyone know what the crack is with these back lit number plates? I have a 97 Chim with these and have just had some new number plates made up, however I think they might be too think for the lights to actually shine through. Mind you, the current plates don't seem to let a lot of light through so I was wondering what this means come MOT time? To be fair I'm unlikely to be driving it around at night anyway so it probably won't make much difference....

Matt, did you get the special translucent plates as opposed to standard plates... standard plates will most definately fail the MOT

True, however the dealer who was getting mine MOT'd told the MOT place that Chim's don't have rear number plate lights and they passed it.
