Just got my 996 back from OPC following big service and engine rebuild.
On checking oil level this morning dipstick says empty, but electronic readout on the dash says full.
Which is lying?
OPC says fault most likely is with electronic readout, dipsticks dont lie. Sounds sensible to me, except that dipstick tube must have been removed to get the engine out, and maybe wasnt put back properly.
before I throw a couple of litres of mobile 1 in, what would you all do - top up or not?
Answers on a postcard.
In anticipation
Brian

Its just come back from an engne rebuild according to the OP, I'd hazard a guess they put some oil in it

Lol it's funny you should say that! Went in there a few weeks ago. To say I was unimpressed would be an understatement!

Have pulled the occasional sales stunt that I know of

That aside I went to their opening party,
it was all sushi & golf handicaps out front,
so I nosed around the workshop for a bit.

I'd say the combined age of the school leavers employed to work on your P+J was probaby somewhere in low teens,
and there was a famous thread On here not so long ago,
concerning a wheel falling off After their tender Ministrations....

Well I went in about 2 weeks ago, pulled up in a 911, wearing shirt, parked up outside.

Walked the showroom like a lost nomad for 20 minutes, was looking all over a very nice 997 cab.

Salesman walked past blanked me, sales manager playing on computer game or msn in office ignored me, then in utter amazement I'm sat in the car and he comes and perches on the back of it on the phone organising his night out.

I walked out in disgust, I can only assume they are not desperate for custom.

I only ever us them as an absolute last resort

And in fact, just because. I could I pitched up in a filthy tipper truck the last time and blocked the front entrance,
in an effort to attract some servive at the counter.
As I say though last resort
