Valentino Balboni has been with Lamborghini for 40 years

On 21 April 1967, Cavaliere Ingegnere Ferruccio Lamborghini employed Valentino Balboni as a 'technician' and he has remained with Automobili Lamborghini ever since, through not-too thick and most often far too thin.

Automobili Lamborghini would have been far less than it has been without him and I'm sure everybody here would wish to join me in sending him their thanks for his colossal efforts and very best wishes for all the years he has been such a great part of the dream of Sant' Agata.

There has never been a finer test driver and may never be a better ambassador for the marque and more importantly, there will never be a kinder spirited and humbler man to rightfully be a hero for so many people.

One day Valentino might wish to retire but somehow, it's doubtful that he ever really will. If you let the Lamborghini spirit into your blood, you would never wish to lose it - if what you have for blood is a great part of that spirit, then it can never leave.

and perhaps tucked your shirt in properly at the back - but at least you remembered to wear a matching outfit to VB's!!

2003 - LCUK Annual Dinner, wife and I were heading down for a cup of tea having put our cases into our room - a very loud and cheerful sounding voice called out from down the stairs, "Ciao David!!" and I looked and saw VB grinning and waving up at me... my head swelled to some three feet wide and I was almost unable to speak - well, being so brightly recognised by one of your heroes would have that effect on most folk, I'm sure!
