Was thinking about changing the wheels on my Chim 500. Although the standard griffith 500 alloys suit it well, I was fancying something a bit bigger. I was thinking either 17" or 18", or reading other posts on this I am very aware of not screwing up the handling. Also will most 4 bolt ford alloys fit? and which offsets should I be looking for?
Thanks for any help

Finding wheels for the Chimaera is a bit of a pain, in particular finding the correct offset for the right size width. 17" front and 18" rear is as big a you'll want to go.

For a 500 with 245 rear tyres, you'll need at least a 7.5" width rim, and ideally 8". To help with finding the right offset, the below link is a very useful calculator...

I've been searching for the best part of a year and think i'll settle for 17" all round. There are many more wheels available in 7x17" with a PCD of 108 and 4 stud, though i would be limited by a 225 tyre at the rear (not really a problem as i have a 400)

Only other thing to consider is tyre choice and trying to keep the overal diameter the same. I have some useful info on my website...
