Ebay or other for DSLR's ?
Discussion
Hi all,
I know there have been a few "Which DSLR ?" threads recently and I've decided upon a 350D, but I wondered if anyone has had any experience of buying camera's off of Ebay. They are selling refurbished cameras with 2 or 4Mb CF cards and 90 warranty. They work out cheaper than the high street or other online stores.
Ebay clicky
Has anyone else bought a refurbished camera or is it best to stick to a new camera with a full warranty ?? I guess it's pot luck but any recommendations would be appreciated.

Hi
I bought a Panasonic FX-01 from this seller UK stock and UK Guarantee. It is a US camera with an adapter plug for the charger. All the guarantee paperwork was for the USA. I have emailed the seller and asked how the guarantee works in the UK and several weeks later I've still not had a response. The camera was good value for money but with a more expensive item I personally would tread very carefully. UK stock I suspect refers to the fact that it was actually in the UK at the time of purchase!
It is likely that the camera is a USA version of the 350D (especially as it is silver - I believe in the UK the silver version was a Jessops exclusive)
Having said all that, its a pretty keen price and the seller does have very good feedback and a significant number of transactions.
Personally I would spend £50 more www.camerapricebuster.co.uk/prod4.html

Thanks davidy,
I think I'm likely to go for the one you linked to, or maybe a high street store if they'll do a deal of some kind. I guess I was trying to be objective with the Ebay one... refurbished need not mean it's a lemon but you never know what the original problem was and whether it has caused secondary problems?!?!? That coupled with a 3 month warranty which, as you say, may be a USA warranty..... Probably not worth the gamble?!! Guess that's answered my question !!??!!
Cheers

That 350D is branded as a Rebel which I think is American equivalent. I have good things about:
