Great battle for third, and fair play to Stoner for another solid performance. He's looking a real threat for the title this year if he keeps it up.
According to BBC site, Rossi says he had unexpected tyre problems. He also says he was unhappy with the way Elias rode as he was dangerous, overtaking inside and then changing his line. Must admit, good to watch but I thought Elias was taking the p*ss once or twice.

Good but like many recent F1 races, very little fighting for the lead.
I think the fact that motorbike Grands Prix are far shorter than Formula One Grands Prix means that the action is necessarily more intense.
I think it's more about the lack of reliance on downforce in bike racing. They can get close to each other without disturbing the level of grip. I think the fact that motorbike Grands Prix are far shorter than Formula One Grands Prix means that the action is necessarily more intense.
Quite amzing that the whole grid qualified within a couple of seconds of each other.

Yeah, I'll second that about Elias - he was being a bit of a dick today.

Du Puniet did a great job too
which kind of took a few major players out early. I'd be gobsmacked if Pedrosa hasn't broken his arm. I think the young guns have to assert themselves somehow and it's a split second decision which, once committed to, is too late to back out of.
I can honestly say I've seen worse than what Elias was doing - Rossi on Gibernau at the last corner in Valencia for a start.
Not trying to provoke a debate here, just trying to offer a balanced opinion. It's a really tough call and sometimes it looks a bit off, but no-one ends up on the deck, so all's well.
There was a very good shot of Rossi's back tyre when the 'train' was catching him and you could see it was cream crackered.

Not RDP, he finished 8th. Did you see the top speed listing which was taken at the end of the final long straight just before the last corners where all hell broke loose on lap 1, it was flashed up at the end of the race. Here's the hard copy.
Jacque was 4km/h faster than his team mate and well up with the Ducati's, I think he might just have braked a little too late. Don't you think
Notice it's his race speed on full fuel (from 1 lap) compared to the others during qualifying and practice. RDP's was race as well though but I think he got his fastest when drafting at the end of the race behind a Ducati/Yamaha/Honda.

Agree totally i'm a massive Rossi fan and he would of took the same line as Elias, when Rossi stuffed into Gibernau no one really cared. Brilliant days racing!

Thought the Elias moves were OK, agressive but fair, nothing Rossi would not do on a better day. On the worst one he did apologise with a little flick of the boot, good racing though all the way through the new tyre regs seem to be a good thing...
What a race! So nearly a 1, 2, 3 for Ducati too - what a result that would have been! I feel gutted for Colin Edwards especially after he qualified so well, but how strange was it to see Rossi being overtaken and slowly going backwards! This is turning out to be a cracking season and it's barely started!

Dry your eyes Rossi.
Elias riding was no more aggressive than the numerous moves he has put on other riders over the years.
