very slow drip of oil from exactly the middle of the engine on the GT3 - could it be the dreaded????? If so, means new clutch at the same time. Is it worth getting the single mass flywheel put in, any downsides? Thanks.

Sounds like you got the warranty thumbup

.. And if you don't , it still pays to get work done.

I got my clutch done for £360 when they diagnosed [the dreaded] at last service .. I didn't bother finding out how worn the clutch was , it just makes sense to get it done.
Funny thing was , it hadn't even started dripping ....

What do you call a Porsche that doesn't leak oil?

An Avensis.

ye its worth getting the clutch done at the same time because if it goes at some point in the future its going to cost you alot more. about the flywheel if you do a lot of trackwork and not so much road work then it would be worth doing but if you do a alot of miles on the road they can make it harder to cruise.

Plenty of track time and not too much on the road really, so probably will get the single mass fly wheel. Not an OPC warranty, but i am pretty sure it's covered.

Pardon me if I'm, wrong, but isn't the GT3 block based on the 964 and therefore exempt from this kind of behaviour?

Nope - the GT3 still suffers occasionally from RMS but the warranty will cover it.

BTW, putting the single mass flywheel on won't make any difference to crusing. It makes it slightly easier to stall whilst reversing but thats about it.

My GT3 has LWF. No problems at all.
