Hi, anybody know if the interior clock from the 3-series is the same as the Eunos imported MX5? I'm reliably informed the UK version is the same?

Thanks,

Dave

I was under the impression that none of the Mk1 cars had interior clocks but I believe the 3 series clock/cubby is a straight forward mod. I think they can be picked up pretty cheaply too.

i have never seen an mx-5 with a clock in it apart from those which have had the bmw clock fitted by an owner.

Doh! Wish I knew that before I sold my E30 for next to nothing! Really need a clock in my k1, it's one of those thigns I always thought was a waste of space until I bought a car without one

I never thought I'd need a clock and was not that fussed to fit one at all (having seen DtMs original fitting).

But that said, I'm astonished at how often I look at my watch.

I suspect that might be my cue to go down this very route too!

its true, you dont really notice how much you notice a clock in a car until you buy a car without one!

How did you get it to fit in so snugly? What's that thing in between the radio and the cubby? I tried to fit mine and it looks awful!!

Originaly on mine it had a large panel under the radio for the electric mirror switch and headlight adjuster ,
as me car had neither of those luxurys i cut the panel to make a din sized hole ,
leaving the strip you see wit hthe imobiliser light ,it still has the bits down the sides to screw onto the dash fascia from behind other wise it would drop out and the radio wouldnt have had anything to hold onto ,
i then fitted the bmw clock/cubby and glue gunned it from behind to make sure it stayed in place ,
to fit it properly you have to take the front of the dash off that holds the radio , there are 5 screws to remove the centre console ,
and 3 for the fascia , 1 down the bottom and 1 behind each airvent .
