When I first start the car and leave it to idle for a bit, I get a soot mark on the ground under the exhaust outlet (GTO 2.5 exhaust points down under the car).

Once the car is warm or reved a bit it stops coming out. The car does run very rich so is it just extra un burned fuel?

Bondy,

Mine was running rich due to a failed/lazy lambda and was quite sooty (Particularly after just starting up)Now its been changed there is no soot and getting better mpg.

I had this but it seems to have cleared up now. Thought it might be something to do with the cat getting a bit gunked up..?

I just called my mate as it did this on his drive (oops) and it just washed off.

I did put STP orange and black bottle (injector and something cleaner in yesterday) this may have added to the sooty part as it was cleaning the engine.

I wouldn't have thought it was the lamda sensor as I only have one and if that was playing up the car would run shite (I would have thought).

The sooner I get the new ECU the better it should be.

Thanks
