Autofocus works but I've found that my old Sigma lens will only work at its maximum aperture on my EOS 350D. As soon as the camera tries to take a picture with an old Sigma at a smaller aperture the camera flashes up Err 99. It will reset to normal when you switch the camera off and back on again. Lenses made in the last couple of years work fine for me.
I've heard Sigma do offer a re-chipping service so its probably worth giving them a call if you've got a reasonably valuable lens to see if they can re-chip it and for what price.

My old Sigma 75-300mm does that with my 30D. A real nuisance sometimes!
If you ring Sigmas customer services and give them the model lens and serial number they will be able to tell you straight away if it compatable with your camera, if not they will give you a price although unless its a really good lens it probably wont justify the cost.
I have rung through a few times and found there service exceptional.
