Great Sounding GTM

The LS engine sounds great with this cross-over system. Its running Kooks headers - they made a special run for GTM's. These will not fit a GTR but I understand that GTR + LS headers will be available soon from Jeff.

That air filter is going to get a might warm. I would want to see that shielded with access to cooler air ducted from outside the engine bay.

I was just thinking the same thing. That looks like it would pull a lot of hot air into the engine with the filter right there.......

Hey Guys... First post. I learned about your site via the forum I frequent for building my GTM. I was cruising around and found the clip of my car.

Appreciate the comments. It really sounds mean! I think the X-Pipe is what really makes the difference. Notice how it sounds like a typical V-8, except when it rev's. Anything over 3K rpms, and it sounds closer to a flat plane crank motor with the more typical buzz sound. Have any of the Ultima guys experimented with X-pipes?

Regarding the air cleaner... Absolutely, a bad place for it. We had been working 12 hour days on the weekends for a couple months to make a car show down at Knotts Berry Farm in LA and had no time to develope a cold air intake for it. Thats on the list of to-do's for sure.

Well, here you go then. I'll post it in the Kit Car section also.

Its been a pretty big project and will have taken nearly 1500 hours to complete over the last 1.5 years. The car was one of the few "beta" cars sent out, and was the first car delivered to CA where I live.

In summary, we started out with this:



Many weekends, and LOTS of help from good friends Dan Pellow, Russ Thompson and Tracy Work, and we got to this point a few weeks ago:
