Porsche 996 40th Anniversary Model
Discussion
Anyone know anything about these models? Saw this in the classifieds and for a 2004 996 with the practicality(more storage space) and costs slightly lower(Brake pads/Disks)than the C4's that i have been looking at, is it a good option?, the OPC's seem to be selling them on par with C4S's. Also, did they all come with 345bhp.

A pal of mine has one , Porsche spec'ed the model up to the last. All you'll ever need .
It's got the wide arse of the 4S (without the strip) , the added advantage of rear wheel drive, all had 345bhp , the added power really shows from about 4.5k revs up. They all came in GT silver (same as the Porsche GT oddly enough
), and they seem to be holding their money slightly better than the 4S.

Odd - I thought the Anniversary was specced with PCM2 as standard? Photo shows otherwise.
Quick look on the web and the only thing i could find was the following, if anyone knows of any Magazines that tested the car then please let me know. Polar - Yeah i have noticed that all others seem to have Sat-Nav/PCM apart from this one. Still looks a great price for a 2004 996 though. On the minus side, the warranty has just ran out so i would need to factor in the £895 warranty.

IMO very ugly car with bling wheels and potentially the end of the worst 'series 'ever produced by Porsche.
I was wondering when you'd come up with something like the above ... Now that you've moved away from the 996.
.. And YES , the 996 TT is still part of the same series you disparagingly refer to..
How predictable.

Much too easy ..thanks ,just won me £100.
Brilliantly done ballcock. You have this guy nailed - I was sure he wouldn't rise to it. I'll pay you the 300 quid next time I see you. :|
ETA - I do think this anniversary model is cock, though. The alloys.... I mean .... just puke.

Isnt that what i said?
It is. I agree with your 40th Anniversary assessment completely. It's just that when you and ballcock go at it, it costs me a fortune.
Who's betting with who....or is there underhand double dealing going on?
Amusing reading!

I thought I was the only one who detested the anni's alloys . My pal managed to change his to turbo's before buying it .. I think his car looks great and it's goes (in a n/a way) like stink.
it's no GT3 though
