Where are you chaps insuring your imprezas? I have a 99 uk wagon which is standard apart from a back box and filter and everyone seems to want 500-600 which is nuts when I can return it to standard and insure it for 350.

Thanks,

Mark

Have you tried A-Plan. Our quote was subsequently very good and we swopped from Direct Line after many years of parting with our hard-earned!! We paid (Main Driver plus partner as named driver) £365 and were very chuffed. MY02 WRX Sportwagon

I'm with A-plan, they want 480 for a standard car.

Maybe the classics are a high risk or maybe the news that Reading is officially a shit hole has rubbed off on our RG postcode

It's nuts though, it costs me less than 200 for my fireblade which I use more than the scoob, it's much faster, much more dangerous and they added the silencer to the policy for free!

A-Plan are pretty good that way. They quoted maybe an extra £50 - £100 in xtra premium for decent power upgrades to my car if and when i do them. There aren't many insurers around that will insure the xtra power hike so i will probably stick with these for a while.

Motorbikes though are cheaper to fix or replace generally if they get stolen or become damaged in an accident hence i think that is reflected in the insurnace premuims you pay. You might want to try Direct Line for your sportwagon and depending on your circumstances they may be cheaper than A-Plan. We stuck with Directline for many years as they were consistently cheaper than anyone else, but on this occasion they lost out.

Good luck thumbup

Give Gary Moulson a ring on 02086427868, he goes by the name of MOLEY WRX off scoobynet. Gave me a better quote than a-plan at the time, but that was only because the excess was higher. Worth a try though.

National Farmers Union do mine with a page full of mods for less than that. I think they are under the impression that it is a tractor what with the four wheel drive 'an all. Ironically they wouldn't cover the wifes bog standard alfa gtv 2.0 litre. (Perhaps they have seen her driving?)

Stupid question but do I need to pretend I'm a farmer?

I'm looking to change my car, have had some ridiculous quotes for my new machine (mostly between £2k and 3k!), but today A Plan quoted me £1200!

I can second that one, he works at Keith Michaels Insurance and he did me a great deal at the last change. All mods covered like for like, business use, 15k a year and the wife on the policy who has only been driving 2 years. All this for £625, plus i asked about future power mods, sport cat and remap and he said it wont push my insurance up!!!
Nice onethumbup

Knowing him and his friend .. probably N/A Supra or even getting that Alfa GTV from _Batty_

Thought you got rid of WRX due to insurance cost?
