Had an interest ‘glitch’ yesterday, pulled onto a fast dual carriageway from a small B road, gave it some beans to filter into the traffic, and my throttle jammed open at 70mph-ish! Had a fun time scrabbling for the off button whilst the engine was screaming as I’d taken it out of gear. Was then left scrabbling for the engine off button. All over in a few seconds, but not a pleasant experience.

Would if be just as easy to replace the throttle cable rather than try and lubricate it? Or maybe it’s the throttle linkage scratchchin

Cheers

I had a similar experience but turned out to be the windscreen washer hose had come off a fallen down into the throtle linkage, kind i scary moment when you lift off and break and it keeps going!!!!

A similar thing happened when I first bought my Cerb and it was the throttle pedal caught under the mat......

Obviously, I removed the drivers mat after that. But I'd suggest changing the cable if at all unsure about it. They're not expensive.

This also happened to me whilst pulling onto m62 recently, turned out to be throttle cable fraying at accelerator pedal. Remedy, drove home very cautiously & replaced with teflon coated mountain bike brake cable, for under a fiver.
