Bent spanner required
Discussion
I replaced the near side exhaust manifold gasket over the weekend, got the bruises to prove it. I managed to access all the bolts from above and they all came out OK, but nipping back up again was not as easy.
The lower bolt adjacent to No 3 is a pig, with the engine mount in the way and I could do with a bent 14mm open end spanner. Any body know of a supplier at sensible prices. I’m aware there are some reduced head bolts available though I’m not sure they would have helped much at this position.
What a difference, the engine sounds much quieter now it must have been blowing slightly for ages and I just hadn’t realised.
Cheers,
Simon.

I think I used a short ring spanner and shirt open ended on that one? if its any help it was alot of very short turns swapping between the two spanners.

Is the open shirt to keep you cooler whilst doing the job?
If you need one just buy a cheapo set and just bend it. You'll probably have use for it elsewhere anyway.

at work we often cut spanners in half and reweld them with a corner.
Fracom is good though !!
