I noticed on my Sag last week that there was an unusual wind noise from the near side. When i took a look it appears that my near side rear quater light window maybe coming unstuck.

Is this standard for the Sag and am i likely to have a window blowout at somepoint.

I need to get it re glued but the TVR main dealer is an hours drive each way and it is booked in a couple of weeks for someother bits and if possible i would like to wait until then.

If not what adhesive is used normally and i might get someone else to restick.

Window blow out. Been there done that, 80mph down the M1 !!!

Get it done, asap would be my advice. I never asked actually how the bonding was done or what was used!

Adhesive will be a polyurethane. Both contact surfaces need to be prepared and primed with adhesion promoters - one for body and a separate one for the body although there are some that do both depending on what the body is...

But that's all I'm telling... it's a job for the professionals.

I had a similar experience with my old Tuscan when the drivers side of the roof come lose at around the 150 mark.

Scared the Excrement out of me and probably more so my faithful co pilot who had probably never been passed the 100 mark in his life.

Would like to avoid this happening again if there is a chance of the window coming out.

I will probably pop down to the local Autoglass centre and see if they can restick it for me.

If anyone knows what bonding / adhesive i should use to avoid it coming loose again i would appreciate their input. I will probably get the drivers side restuck while i am at it just for peace of mind.

A friendly call to your local dealership should tell you what they use and any other special info you need. I think the TVR dealerships have got plenty of experience on this one!
