Hi all,

Mrs.NCoT is looking at a new point and shoot, narrowed it down to these two.

As always, a little research has shown that in the States they have different names - IXUS 850 IS = Canon SD800 IS Digital ELPH, whilst the IXUS 900 Ti = Canon SD 900 Digital Elph confused

Anyway, from what I can work out the 900 is the range topper and is generally better, except that: the 850 has a more useful bottom end of the focal length range (down to 28mm compared to the 37mm odd of the 900), and the 850 has some sort of image stabilisation built in (always useful) that the 900 lacks.

What's the story with that? Why does the top of the range lack some of the features of its little brother? If there's a good reason why is it not stated somewhere?

Any thoughts?
