Do you have a tank protector? If so, does it have any problems sticking down properly over that crease in the tank? I need to get one - only had the bike since Saturday and I can see marks developing at the front of the tank and where my knees grip - but I'm aware once it's on it's not coming off, so need to get it right...

Also I'm looking for a gloss black one to match the tank, any recommendations? I've seen a Motrax one (I think) but that has a little yellow M in the corner. The OEM one is a carbon look one with the GSXR logo, I believe...

I've got the carbon Gsxr one on my K7, but it still doesn't protect the area where your legs grip and rub, was thinking of protecting it with armourfend in the scallops on the tanks sides.

I have the carbon GSX-R one. It's not bad and fits well.

Do you have any pics of the OEM one? I was a bit wary of putting a carbon look on cos there's no other CF on the bike! I had been looking at the Oxford Spine:

...the black one, kinda hidden in that pic, but it's all I can find. Hopefully it's not quite as chunky looking as that one that's out of the packaging though!

Also I went into a Hein Gericke and they said they'd sent them all back because of problems with that model not sticking?!

I have the venturesheild kit on my tank. I think that you can buy a tank kit for about 30 quid. It's way better than any other tank pad I've used in the past and is virtually invisible.

This might sound silly, but does it actually prevent scratches? If it just looks like it's scratched I'd probably go for a tank pad, even though it's obviously cheap to replace. Is it hard to fit?

I've also got the oem carbon fibre jobbie, as already mentioned it doesn't prevent the scuffs in the side of the tank which seem to appear at the slightest of contacts with my leathers

I'm tempted by the venture shield if it's as invisible as it seems, but I'm a bit curious about the pattern for the GSX-R - www.ventureshield.com/pattern_search.asp if you search for the relevant bike, it's got about 10 (oddly-shaped) pieces! Does it cover the whole bike?!

Nope, I know what my answer will be now though "looks like a GSX-R to me"!
