Hi,

the lighting in my T350's dash LCD seems to have a loose contact. Occasionally, it is lit up, but most of the time it stays dark. When being dark and lit by the sun, I can see the LCD is still working - only the background light is off.

Additionally, some lines are missing (a common problem?).

Is there a connection inside the dash I should check? I already searched the forum but did not find a satisfying solution (besides getting an exchange from Bell Hill).

Thanks,

Konrad

I have similar problem. When I start up, dash has missing lines. After driving for about 1/2 to 1 hour, works fine, missing line re-appear, so must be loose contacts, but too scared to take dash pod out without someones' previous experience and instructions...

Can anyone help???

Hiya, www.pistonheads.co.uk/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&t=215344&hw=+%2BDASH+%2BLCD should help
posilby cable/s not seated correctly or perhaps a pod requiring a service - would try cables first though

Having waited 9 weeks (yes 63 days) for mine to be repaired and had many telephone conversations with various menders I am in a position to sort you right out here.

There are (as with many things TVR) now 2 types of LCD instrument pod following a design change made by the suppliers after many of the original units went faulty.

The new panels are supposedly far less likely to suffer the missing lines which are caused by the electrode connection inside the LCD panel itself cracking.

Only Automedon have the magical fairy dust eating carrier pigeon necessary to enable communication with the elusive supplier of said LCD panel. TVR Power would appear to have given this up as a bad job (only after sitting on my panel for several weeks, however).

Mine was repaired under warranty but it would have cost me around £450 for the privilege otherwise.

Enjoy!

I believe Automedon are now able to repair the pods themselves, they were certainly setting up to do so when I was last there.

Anyone know if the Automendon fix will sort out my Power suppy fault (Code 245 I think)? Symptoms are the lines on the dash as well as a reluctance to shut down the power to the dash, even once the keys have been removed. Often requires a good kicking (or fuse removal) to turn her off.

Richard,

in other words: If the cables/connections are all good, the LCD itself is broken and needs replacement, which only Automedon is able to do?

Anyone on the LCD lighting?

Cheers

Backlight is probably part of the same problem and should be fixed at the same time.

I don't know if TVR Power are still offering to do LCD panel replacement and I'm not blaming them as such - I appreciate that they are trying to help owners during rather trying times.

David,

thanks for the link to the other thread clap . I just didn't use the correct magical words in the forum search, I guess. I'll start checking the pod on Saturday...

Cheers
