serpentine or not

Am in the throws of up grading the engine in the Chimaera and wanted to know the pro's and con's of serpentine engines over pre. Are the later ones better?

Serpentine are better: diffeent oil pump and higher oil pressures and basically just improved all round. Be aware that things on a serp engine are not quite in the same place and things like PAS, AirCON and other belt driven ancillaries will need replacing. Could add several hundred to the bill and be a big time consumer!

Hit this problem big time with the 520. Nothing that can't be overcome but forewarned is fourarmed (???) as they say. Details of my experience is on www.t-v-r-services.co.uk. Look for 520 story in Engine upgardes.

Steve thanks for that I don't have any of these luxurys (PAS A/C) so serpentine it is.
