There was an interesting discussion on Jag-Lover's XK forum (50's style, real XKs )
about this one. A couple of the guy's there reported having actually used stockings as fan belt replacements to get you home None of them had tried it on a Jag though. It's not so much the fan that you need to drive as the water pump.

The car in the ads is an XK120. and looks to be rather a nice one.

I hadn't re-watched the ad yesturday, my PC had suddenly decided it needed a flash upgrade and when I looked the other week I obviously wasn't paying enough attention to the bumpers they're not on the screen for long I was mostly remembering back to when the ads originally ran on TV

I know it's no excuse

I am afraid to say I DO remember that, although it was only the 80's so not too bad an admission!!

Nice curves and the car wasn't bad either............................
