Roberto is actually Auto Italia's chief test driver, (as his website probably says), and a racing driver of many a decade's experience and also, frankly, in serious debt to me as he promised me a track drive in his Miura SV a couple of years ago and then went right on ahead and sold the damn car, the swine - and that after I managed to get AI fixed up with a couple of other Miura's for a shoot at Longcross along with RG's car!
Phil and Michael Ward complained during the shoot that I looked a bit miserable sitting in the passenger seat of RG's Miura SV... This may have been because I had just driven down from Lancashire that morning and was probably more than a little concerned about 3 Miuras jockeying for position behind the camera car - a scary situation at the best of times but when it includes 3 incredibly rare cars it was a real moment for adjusting the seat upholstery, if you know what I mean...
Whatever the reason for getting a bit of a glum look on my face that day, it was no excuse for AI's photo editor making me disappear from the cover shot of the issue when the cars were featured a few months later...

just noticed what might be a comment from Jacobyte about not getting on with AI's crew.
That's not something thats ever been a problem for me and certainly not anything I meant to imply... Phil, Michael, Roberto and the rest of the crew all do a great job - I've never had any difficulty with them at all and they are becoming ever-more great friends of LCUK. For example, check out the long-overdue article featuring an Anniversary Countach, a Diablo VT and a Murciélago in the next-ish edition (allowing Phil to bump it down another issue or three).
Anyhow, some of us will be at Brooklands next weekend and I don't much fancy getting roughed-up by Phil, especially as I may be there with my Goddaughter (now just 10 years old) and/or my Lambo (now nearly 35) which I will have to insist is not ready for another outing for a magazine as it's not quite 10 years since the last time it featured in anything...
