About to pull the trigger on an 04/54 manual Gallardo in yellow, just wondered what mods to check for?
Car is coming from Bruce at Lambo London. He says it has "type 4" clutch fitted in 2005, is that the latest one?
It has sat nav but I didn't see the Lambo logo appear when switching it on - should it?
It has a sports exhaust which apparently the car doesn't like - it idles badly and over-revs too, so they are putting a standard exhaust, is this really too quiet?
So many questions...

Hi, the satnav should show the logo, well at least on my 05 MY car, and have two SD card slots which take 2 GB cards for music (but both might have appeared in 2005!)
Clutch is now on version 5, so I can only say the mine as so far lasted over 30,000 miles and still going strong.
One issue the car does have, many have commented on it, is at about 1800 - 2000 rev the engine feels jerky. Although this issue seems to be helped if the throttle bodies are given a good clean.
Regards
Simon

They say 06 exhaust won't fit. Any ideas on Ipod conneciton?
Not sure I just use the memory cards, unfortunately Mike is the resident expert on tinkering with Lambo Sat-Nav systems - hopefull he will be better soon so he can help you
Is the car the one that is currently in the LL window?
Latest revision of clutch for the manual is Rev E. I think this was standard from 06 onwards so you could have a Rev C, would be worth asking. Either way if you drive it properly it won't be an issue.
On the subject of mods you have to get a set of high flow air filters. As for exhausts, the type of exhuast shouldn't really cause you major Idling problems. Mine is fully de-catted with a tubi on and idles nicely. if you like a proper F1 style sound that has to be the way to go. The 04/5 standard exhaust is to quiet for my liking. The 06 will not fit on the earlier models without major mods and sounds great on full chat.
Hope that helps
Andy.

Re: air filters, London should carry them in stock, about £45 each I think. You noticed a huge air intake noise when you really push the rev counter up to the top, which sounds great, and makes the car just "feel" more responsive.
A good move. I'm just fitted some after market brakes pads which I hope will improve the feel of the brakes - will let you know how I get on.
