Is it possible to get the wiring custom made? I've had them spliced but have read that this can lead to some problems - they've been done good but my mind says it would be better to have an uninterupted wire.

As they have been spliced I either want to source repalcement originals then I can use an extention lead or I was wondering if its possible to just take them off and nip down to an electricians somewhere to make new leads with the current connectors.... or just buy new leads

anyone know if any of these options are open to me? Vauxhall have said that to get the cable I need to buy the sensor...

There are soldered joints, crimped joints, and multiplug style joints on wiring looms on all sorts of cars....

So if done correctly, I wouldnt be overly concerned about 1 extra joint, on a lambda, or almost any simple voltage sensor.

its just more a case of for my own mind the behaviour seems to be as expected for the o2 slow switching issue

anyway gotten an efilive 2 on the way now so can always keep an eye on things

I'm sure extending the cables isn't a problem, we do lots of controls work using 0-10v signals, no probs joining cables, sayingthat I'm sure I saw extended cables on one of the LS1 forum sponsors websites.

yeah I nearly orderd some but on checking they are just extenders not replacement wires. mine are already spliced, am sure the problem is just due to the slow switching of the sensor. am thinking of getting some wrapping onto the headers perhaps at some point

The only sensors that I'd expect to be fussy about joints are thermocouples. Anything else just needs an electrically sound joint, screened the same as the original wiring (i.e. not at all, for lambda sensors).

Narrowband lambda is 0-1v.
But as Steve says, sound joints will be fine....
