Rear Foglight

Has anyone changed their rear foglight? I was hoping to find something which doesn't protrude so much, maybe an LED unit or similar?

Also, assuming such a thing exists, anyone know how the hell you get the original lamp out?!?!

It comes out by pushing it away from the car from underneath the bumper (not sure if it needs twisting as well, but I would have thought the manual will explain how to change the bulb).
I recently needed a new bulb fitting for the MOT, and the garage had not fitted it back properly - the fitting and the wiring loom were hanging out of the hole, and it needed pushing back in.
