Don't know what you think but it looks like the last few VXR's have almost gone and maybe the value of the second hand ones may hold if not rise !!!!!!
What do you think ????????
I for one hope so.

The guy who sold me mine at Quickars Ltd seemed to think this was a distinct possibility, especially given the "discount" price which the last pre-reg ones went out at.

Maybe depends on how many people get scared off by the Band G malarkey....

Band G will mean that cars registered before march 2006 could actually be worth more/be easier to sell than cars registered after. We shall have to see!

Prices may firm up a bit, especially after all the tax malarkey, but I think it's very unlikely that they will go up. IMHO and all that.

I think when the new VXR8 comes out - values are going to drop.

Different cars 4 door vs coupe, don't think the new car will effect residuals

Just as a rough guide considering the cars dont appear in any of the trade guides, tried to get an 05 05 6litre VXR valued within the motor trade about 4 months ago and got values ranging from £17.5 to £19k that dealers where willing to pay for the car.

I am certainly hoping so! Although at 7 years old, I am pretty sure I couldn't lose any more

I'm not an expert, but I would agree with that. Then again, I don't understand why the last VXRs were discounted, as they were no longer being made I would have thought they would have commanded a premium?

Old Monaros do come up in value once the majority have been wrapped around trees.

There are currently 2 '05 GTOs for sale on carsales.com.au, both priced at $62,500 (£25600) original price was $78690 (£32200). Moral of the story; if you want to buy an Aussie V8, move to England (yes I know I'm repeating myself)

Im sure people said the same about the calibra 4x4 turbo. Now you can get them for £1500.
There is no way in hell prices will rise until around 30 years later.

Yes, and working on the VE Clubsport Vauxhall is making much more margin selling the R8 at £35,995 which is $69,000 in Oz! Maybe they think that joe public think the sedan is worth more than the coupe. Who knows. Anyway much more room for discounting anyway.

I should add that the 2 mentioned above are private sales, 2 at dealers for $66 & $67k.
As for the pricing of the VXR8, I made this rough calc on another thread:

Yep, hence my $69k comment

Ah I see. Is that from an HSV option list or just between R8 & GTS prices?
Either way, prolly close enough, other thing I neglected was GST/VAT, you would get the 10% GST off if exporting (I think) but I assume you would then pay VAT which I think is a higher rate? (17% IIRC?) So $69k plus ORC = $75k less 10%GST =$67500 = approx £28k.
Add shipping 1k, import duty (don't know, ours is 10%) =£32k PLUS VAT @ 17% = £37k
Plus mods?, then warranty... just go to your friendly Vauxhall dealer!
ok some of my figures are guesstimates, but I don't think I am that far off?

O/T, HSV are selling an imported Astra(?) VXR here, I'd be interested to do those sums in reverse; anyone know the UK price?
