How do I turn the afterburner off ??

So the 450 is going like feck, but still running a bit rich, in fact at times we get huge flames from the exhaust when changing gear,

its fun for a bit, but also a bit UnoNovaSaxoish, so any ideas how I lean a hot wire Wedge off a bit ?? what does the colour coded tune resistor thing do and what colour means what ??

Crimp the fuel pipe with mole grips - should lean it off a bit

Shouldn't really happen on a hotwire set up.
Is the road speed transducer connected.? (the small box in the speedo cable)
According to RR docs - if the car is moving (sensed by transducer) fuel is cut off on overrun.

Take the overall CO-level down at air flow meter (at least the flapper setup has one, and assume hotwire as well). It should lean it off across the rev-range.
And as mentioned before, hotwire should be able to cut fuel quick enough to only have small or no flames....

I'd be tempted to leave her in flame mode , much more fun , keeps the chavs clear of the back end too !

i had the same problem when i got the 400 i ajusted the throtall switch and the stepper motor and this stopped the flames out the back
also if the problem persists it will burn the fiberglass out of the exaust box
go onto rpi home page and it will tell you how to ajust the switch and stepper motor with a muilty meter
if you cannot do it your more than wellcome to come to my house and i can set it u for you

I haven't driven my wedge yet but my rx7's a fire breather. It doesn't keep them off your ass, at least in my case
it has them tailgating for a better look. I get lots of compliments at red lights though.

I really want mine to do that, only on full chat obviously! Looks awesome...

Mine only does wee lil ones when really hot and giving it beans, and then only lil ones!

darren have you adjusted the airflow meter, was playing with mine today as the chap altered it when he made the first exhaust and when it got hot it would not tick over. altered the screwa good few turns and it was popping well on over run, although have turned it down now.

Be handy if somone could bring a gas analizer, to check the mixture setting on the AFM.

leave it alone. Flames out the back give the car character.
I barrelled into a roundabout 2 weeks ago, and down changed .. the resulting afterburner effect was enough to panic the old woman in the corsa into flashing her headlights at me .....
