Just thought I'd post this. I was cycling along the Danube today and thought what a great sunset. I also love wind turbines so a nice addition

What do you all think?

Nice! We've had some great sunsets in the last few days in the outback, having had a lot of rain, but by the time i have walked outside, looked up and seen the shot, rushed back into get the works D70S, it has changed and i've missed the oppurtunity. I should walk home with the camera one day i think...

V6GTO - I'm a complete newbie to photography and while I appreciate the second image looks better, haven't the foggiest what has been done to it apart from cropping! Would you be able to spell it out for me please? rolleyes

Thanks for the feedback all. It certainly brought the colours out a lot more! It was a beautiful sunset. Below is a panned out image of the same scene.

My equipment is an EOS 300D. I'm looking to upgrade to a 400D, but mainly for the increased shutter burst speed and larger buffer.

I've also included some "industrial" style shots of the bike

Adjusted Levels, added saturation and sharpened...easy peasy.

The first photo looks much better to be honest. The edited one has been overly saturated and the colours don't look very realistic. Canon SLRs capture colour beautifully and adjustment usually leads to the problems that are shown in the edited photograph.

Ah...but had you seen the edited one first you'd have felt much more visual impact, and then seeing the original you'd think it looked washed out. Not having taken the photo niether of us can say which one looks more realistic. All IMHO of course .

Thanks for the comments! Hopefully I should get a few more like this in the coming days. We've got another week of 25C forecast and that equals stunning sunsets!
