Smell of fumes in car and boot???

Is this normal? Do they all do that sir?

I left my jacket in my boot and it smelt when I got it out and when you first open the boot it smells but it doesn't smell like straight petrol fumes.

If I open the window while driving I get a smell of fumes.

I think it's exhaust gas but not 100% sure.

Are you positive its not a straight petrol smell? Mine gets this in the boot occasionally. Especially if I fill to the limit. Ok if I just go to a max of 50ltrs. Assume there must be a slight spillage on cornering if overfilled.
