There are three cats - one in each manifold, and one in the Y piece. They are TVR specific. Best bet is a breaker or ebay.

Thanks. Can you recommend a breaker?

With the ammount of Griffs on here being de-catted there must be someone who has some spares tucked away in their garage...

Maybe worth a post on the Griff forum ??

If it helps on cost, the only cat you need for emissions is the main one in the Y-piece. Many of us have the pre-cats removed from the manifolds.

Hi all,
Thank you all for the answers. I shall be on it right now. With regards to de Catting, does it not effect the MOT, changes in the log book etc? Sorry not really up with this, but if it helps the car run better, faster and noisier, I rather not have the Cat.
Thank again.

One more thing. if I take out the pre cats can anyone tell me the changes I need to make on the ECU if any for ex the in line resistor values, etc. The other thing, do I still need the lambda sensors or can they be disconnected. Thanks

I see that yours is a 94 preserpentine engine which means the engine will almost certainly be a 1993 unit, so technically you don't need cats at all (if you go this route, then you will need to fit a tune resistor [do a search in the Griff forum for details as this has come up a lot recently]).
As for the pre cats in the manifold, they were put in to pass the "Cold start" emissions test. As this test is never done in an mot (you drove it there, therefore engine is already warm)it can safely be removed and no ecu adjustments are required. Given the age of the car and unless the manifolds have been replaced, they will almost certianly be breaking down and only serving to restrict exhaust gas flow.

Leave the lambda sensors in the exhaust and connected to the ECU. Swap the tune resistor for a green one if you have no cats.

Tx. The are Dynamics Diablo 17" got mine from SWT wheels in Nailsea (worked out the cheapest with Toyo tyres), but you can get them from Halfords as well.
