Whilst replacing the drivers side door button last night I noticed that my mirror had no wires attached - in fact I can see the 2 wires taped up inside the mirror housing and not attached to anything. I'd guess that at some point the mirror glass has been replaced and the wires not re-attached. Question is though how do you attached the wires to the mirror glass? I can see no terminals or anything on the back of it...

Can you see the back of the mirror/glass through the plastic holder, or can you see a sort of flat PCB matrix?

If you can see glass doesn’t sound like it has a heater attached.

Normally on heated mirrors attached to the back of the glass is a flat heater this will have a couple of metal tabs to attach the wires.

Hope that helps.

I'll have another look tonight but sounds like the previous owner took the cheaper option and went for glass only rather than some with a heater matrix on it.
Thanks for your help!

Before buying a new heated mirror glass check the voltage across the wires as it may have been replaced as it wasn't working.

Here's a picture of the back of a heated mirror glass. Mirror is mounted on its carrier, but you can still see the heating elements and the connection tails.
