Anyone know what you can clean POR off brushes with, I'm rapidly running out of brushes and thinner/ white spirit don't do it.

Thinners shoud work, there is a special POR solvent but its expensive - I have some and only use it for thinning & cleaning me (new brushes are prob cheaper than the solvent). Once the stuff has gone off - forget it

I buy the very cheapest paint brushes I can find and throw them away once I've finished for the day. Cleaning them isn't worth the time and effort.

I used these and binned them after each coat. That POR 15 stuff is amazing!

Make sure you clean the edge of the lid before you put it back. I had to drill into my tin in the end!

It helps to put some cling-film over the tin before pressing down the lid- this should stop the POR/Rust Bullet from setting.

I should also add pound-shops do a good line in 5 brushes (different sizes) for a pound . I now have lots of spare 2in brushes from these sets...

So what? We're talking about painting the chassis underneath, not your front door.

I think they're made by Hammer and Frosts etc do sell them.

However, for a similar price, you can buy a full-size 2-post or 4-post lift off Ebay, as I did. Assuming you have the space and 3-phase.

For a thread on the lifts look at:

I unashamedly lifted the pic from 1 of the 4 systems that were under discussion.
