Been away from racesims for about 2 yrs now and looking to maybe buy one of these wheels with the 6 speed shift, to get back into the latest sims like rfactor,GTR2 etc. I used to play GPL (a lot!) with a MS sidewinder FF wheel till it finally gave up the ghost. Is the Logitech wheel worth the ~£150 asking price?

Cheers!

I don't have one, but coincidentaly will be ordering one this morning. By all accounts I've read, it is indeed the wheel to have!

I don't like the fact it only has two buttons on the actual wheel. It does indeed feel a league above the Driving Force Pro (and doesn't suffer the same problems - pedals etc). I paid £150 for mine and don't regret it.

Is it compatible with a PS3 or Xbox 360?

I thiiiink there is a PS2 compatible version.

Edit: Yep, although it's the same (USB) one. The PS2/3 recognises it as a Driving Force Pro:

I've just got one, however a year or twos worth of driving with only two pedals has left me struggling to get used to a clutch pedal.

Its easy to say that you'll pick it up easily - certainly I can drive my car easily enough with a clutch pedal, but I can't stop myself from stamping on the clutch pedal when I need the brake...

Boy I want one of these, but as a student (even a paid one) I don't think I can justify £150!!

what do you recommend ? why not dell ? the 710 H2C has some really good reviews and gets a 3dmark06 of 12500

cheers

Please convince me I don't need a G25...

I really want one and assuming the car service and work isn't too bad there should be one with me soon!
Please tell me it's a bad idea!

Sorry, you really really need one...
Replaced my old Sitek R440 3 weeks ago, convinced myself that a G25 would be better long term.
Really impressed, paddle shift is metal, seprate shifter is a nice piece of kit, the pedals are great and it makes a change to have some resistence on the brake and have a clutch pedal too.

Well worth the money, have only played GPL & GTL with it

Has anyone upgraded to this wheel from the Logitech Momo, which is what I have been using for a few years now. I was wondering how it feels compared to this wheel. I have the one with the Red base as I think they did a cheaper version.

Worth the upgrade?

I've upgraded from the old, old, old Wingman Formula Force which I've had for about 7 years now! The difference is amazing, both in the feel of the wheel, quality/strength of the FF, general build quality (especially the pedals) and also the extended travel of the wheel. My old wheel had half a turn each way - 180 degrees of lock...this wheel has up to 900, but I leave it set to 360ish.

Definitely worth getting, mine's ace!

Dabs give you a £10 voucher to use if you spend over £100 too, so I got mine for £143 delivered.

Got it! I like - especially the gear change and pedals.Feels quite good quality,I hope it lasts like the old MSFF wheel. Re-installing GPL as we speak! Does VROC still operate?

I havent got a G25 (have a thrustmaster Ferrari GT FF) but if you want to test the force feedback system try playing Live For Speed.

I've played Test Drvie Unlimited, GTR2, GT Legends, rFactor with the wheel and Live for Speed is head and shoulders above the rest for wheel interaction.
The ability to "feel" what the car is doing underneath you is insane, the Force feedback programming on this game is so much better than anything else its just silly.
Before I got the wheel I was either driving with mouse or Joystick . Now I could actually set some pretty respectable lap times with the mouse but some cars just were not worth driving as once sideways they were uncontrolable.
Once I got the wheel I could put in a reasonable couple of laps before falling off the track with the Force feedback turned off. Turned the Force Feedback on.... WOW, even the most evil car in the game (Mid engined roadster thing) can be held in superb power slides for as long as I want lap after lap after lap. In fact I was lapping so consistantly that I lost track of time and eventually wore out my rear tyres, suffering a mid drift blowout. In fact I've even taken to deliberately drifting the cars from corner to corner.

Remember this is with a £40 wheel set, I cant for one second beleive that the G25 wont be far better.

Try Live for Speed yes

I couldn't live without my G25.

Simple as that.

I use it everyday, the only bad thing is it makes the M$ wheel for the 360 feel soo cheap and useless.
