Dry sump oil change

I am going to do a full oil change on my Tuscan this weekend.....however, I want to drain tank AND shallow engine sump. Never done one of these before so was wondering if I could refill oil simply through top of oil tank, or will this take too long to re-lubricate the engine when i turn the key?

Anyone done this or know best method?
