Warwickshire & West Mids run to the Peak District May 13th

As some of you are aware, Frank Smith is organizing this latest outing for our region and you may already have some info, but for those who haven't and would like to join us for what should be another great day out, this is the plan. Meet at the Bulls Head at 10:00am to leave about 10:15. There will be a second meeting point at McDonalds just off the Bassett's Pole island at about 10:30. We plan to stop off at Ladybower Reservoir, but there will be no food available here so make sure you bring a packed lunch, or have a big breakfast. There are toilets though so no hiding behind walls or bushes this time! After lunch we will take in the Snake Pass to Glossop before heading back home. Full details of the route will be handed out on the day. If any of you have sat-navs or 2-way radios all the better. You can always e-mail me if you need more info. The route is about 180 miles from the Bulls Head there and back, but we will no doubt be stopping for fuel at some point. Hope we can have another good turn-out.

You say there is no food available at the dams, but if you turn down at the side of the dams (just before you enter the snake pass) towards Howden dam, there is a car park called Fair holmes, it is a 2-3 mile run down there and there is a cabin with food and drinks withba picnic area with tables, it is sooo nice there with the wild life and the scenery, also in the first dam tower there is a free museum on Sundays which shows the building of the dams and the bouncing bomb, in fact there is a bouncing bomb in the museum, it is very interesting.
Sorry that I can't be there on that day, it is our group run out to the coast.
