Wheel alignment settings
Discussion
Anyone know the alignment settings? Just been to get mine done as the steering wheel is slightly off-centre and the guy in the tyre place very honestly said he didn't have the settings for a Monaro VXR but would be happy to do the job if I can get the settings.
Was quite pleased that he didn't just take on the work and guess or just set it parallel just to take the cash from me.

I thought it was just the lower arm bushes on the front, in particular the big squashy one at the front. My car is currently at the dealer for a suspension noise investigation. If it wasn't still under warranty it'd be with Monkfish but if I can get it fixed with standard parts for now then I'll save up and get the polybushes later.
I had powerflex ones on my Puma and it made a huge difference.

I am kind of guessing its one of the things that helped the 350z. Both cars aer actually similar in weight but the ro isnt as tight. OK I know the Zed is a different style car but I dare say the bushes used went a long way to getting it that tighter feel... I know my suspenders are saggy in comparison but I quite like the ride just want it tightening up.
Just got a call from the dealer. They couldn't track down the suspension noise but have ordered me a new steering rack as that was making funny noises. I'm a bit useless at tracking down noises so that could be the root cause (it would certainly explain the nasty sounds when going from lock to lock). I have no idea how long the lead time is on racks though. I hope they do a proper alignment job after replacing it!

There are no bushes to adjust as such, though as part of the pac we usually find we need to adjust the toe setting at the rear. Camber is non-adjustable on the stock set up but is normally ok. We can do bushes to allow this to be adjusted if need be.

I'll guess at top strut bearings! Rack won't fix that.

The FAQ has the 04 CV8 tracking figures, so if someone does find out other figures, let me know and I'll update.
Would be good if I could also get the AVO setup as well

The settings we use will vary according to customers intended use, height, type of bushes etc. Wouldn't be sensible to quote figures as there is not necessarily a right or wrong. We always discuss with the customer first to establish their requirements and aspirations from the new set up.

That's been mentioned by a couple of people but they both had high mileage Commodores.
The guy seemed pretty sure. I'd not expect strut bearings to go after 24,000 miles :/
I might aswell get the new rack under warranty and go from there.
