Unit trusts, venture capital tunit rusts
Discussion
Does anybody know if there is an index of the most consistent/best performing of these somewhere?
I reularly see ads for Artemis, Jupiter, Threadneedle etc but frankly I try not to base investments on adverts as basically they are spending my money on adverts!
I have also read that there are some tax breaks with venture capital unit trusts if held for at least 3 years???
www.citywire.com/co.uk (?) has plently of info on the performance of trusts and the like, give that a go..
Plenty of other sites are out there too, but hopefully thats a start.

Thanks for that, I found 'mymoney', which was pretty sparse.
Leftie,
I believe if VCT Units are held for 3 years (might be 5) then income tax relief is available at 30%, dividends received are tax-free, and any capital gain made on the units are exempt from capital gains tax.
These are obviously the rewards for the high-risk nature of these investments.
Hope this helps!
P.S. Please anybody correct me if I am wrong!

I think the 3 year thing is correct. You have to speculate to accumulate as my old (but poor and bingo playing) dad used to say.
