Playing as the rebels in Medieval Total War...

This afternoon I fired up Medieval Total War:Viking Invasion to have a bit of rape and pillage fun playing as the Vikings, but the strangest thing happened -

My graphics card did its usual crazy polygons thing (it overheats) so I had to save and restart the computer, but when I loaded up the game I just saved I started as the rebels in a brand new Medieval (not the Vikings) game!

It was a bit hard to start with as I had no economy and troops scattered all over the place, but I'm now slowly turning Europe into an anarchy! It's really odd as suddenly I get battles in far flung places when the locals rebel against the proper factions. I don't have a King and the Pope never moans at me, which is nice.

Only downsides are I can't make horses or boats, but the amount of free troops I randomly get make up for that.
