whilst out for a walk
Discussion
Had number 3 had a fast car (with maybe a bit of speed blur) in it then it would be awsome. I think the problem I have with the others is that they don't really have a "point of interest" (except the snow/kites one). The car shot passes muster because it's "about" something too...the car (you really should have taken the M15 home for the weekend and photographed that though
).

not got an M15
could have used the p1 or the BMW but i had just pinched my dads car so that it was. the road one would be good with a nice car in it but unfortunately I think im the only rapid one round those parts and since I was behind the camera....
thanks anyway, anyone else?

He mant the M15 motorway
Are you having a laugh?
If you're serious then I'd suggest you read a few books on landscape photography, particulrly how to compose a photo and also think a little more in terms of being creative which is different from turning the camera on it's side - try to avoid just taking photos and think "is this going to produce a really striking image"
It takes a lot of courage to post your pics on t'internet so fair play and keep enjoying it, that's the most important thing.

oh my bad about the M15 I live in Swindon have no idea where the M15 is.
thanks for the kick in the teeth shed. I'm not serious its only like £50 camera and I have no camera training. Just take pics of what I think looks nice. obviusly not to everyones taste. Although someone off here has emailed me asking after one of the pics so cant be all bad.
as for being creative what do you suggest could have been done to make the pics more interesting?

Nothing wrong with most of the pics that a quick touch up in PS or similar wouldn't help. For example:
(This is by no means perfect, but it will give you an idea of what can be done ... usually a lot better by others on here!
)
Ignore anyone who is overly critical, particularly anyone who has yet to prove their own prowess.

A good thing to think of when you compose a picture is the rule of thirds. If you think of the camera viewfinder having a noughts and crosses pattern drawn inside it try and put the focal point (someone's head, a tree, or an exploding firework etc) where two of these lines cross. where you have something like a pathway, a long fence or a stream in your picture try to use that feature to lead the eye to the focal point - it gives the eye something to follow, and adds depth and perspective to your pictures. You could also do with a little knowledge of how to tweak your images - do you have a copy of Photoshop or a similar programme with your camera ? There are a few basic adjustments such as levels and sharpness that don't take long to practice and which really make a difference. Stick with it - you don't need an expensive camera to take nice pictures.
