We've thawed out - time to get the Ultima on the road again
Discussion
I love Minnesota, but the winters are not suitable for driving (although I have had the Ultima out on the snow a few times!!)
This winter I did a bunch of things on the car - new tires, complete clean up, re-greased the suspension, re-alignment, rear-lid indicator switches if the rear was not closed correctly.
I did take the car out yesterday for some serious driving. I'm still learning how effective the brakes and traction are on the Ultima. A good trial seems to be to wait for a slight gap in the freeway traffic, take the car up to about 150 mph in an open stretch of road, and then when you see a car about 50 metres ahead (and not in your lane), jump on the brakes and slow down to not pass the slower car. I never did this
, but I can tell you that if I did, you would be amazed at how well the brakes / traction work. I'm ready for a sping driving tour!
