Hi all,

on my way home last night, my car did the strangest thing. I pullig out of a car park, tried to accelerate and it stuttered and the rev's would not rise. I thought i had gone into the wrong gear or something so i put it in neutral whilst rolling and floored it.

Revved a lot cleaner but still a bit stuttery (Is that a word, if not copyright danrc )

Anyway, this continued for a wee while till i got to a set of lights and i revved again, this time no problems. Drove to my friends and asked for his opinion. He thinks it could be the Dizzy (A common fault on Civic's i believe), or the MAP sensor. I am going to check the ECU today for fault codes, then reset it, take the plugs out and maybe change them.

I have some brand new bosch Plantinum ones, would these fit my civic? Any other ides guys?

Thanks for your help.

I'll just have to check everything i guess, I really hope it isn't the dizzy - I dont fancy a £120 bill before my MOT in two weeks. :s When it rains it pours eh?!

If its cracked, or has any worn parts I doubt it, you normally have to buy whole distributers these days. You could try cleaning any water out of it with WD-40.

Cheers dude, did some more investigating...

Swapped my mates Dizzy on and it seemed fine, drove to his this morning to swap it back and the same happened!! I put new plug leads on and again everything seemed ok, so i put my old dizzy on with the new plug leads and its fine again.

Now, i checked the error codes on my ECU and it cam up with 1, 41, and 43 which is o2 sensor and fuel supply related. I think the o2 ones are because of my Decat but the interrupted fuel supply would leave me to beleive there is crap in the tank.

I emptied out the fuel filter, and i'm gonna give it a blast later to see if all is good. Would this cause the car to not rev the way it has been doing? I think it is this because i can "rev through it" and it seems fine.

Any thoughts on this?
