Must have 360 games
Discussion
Its all relative really, but for me the following are the games I enjoy most at present as I pick them up and start playing for no reason:
Gears of War
Test Drive Unlimited
Fight Night Round 3
Pro evo 6
I love these games once I'm playing them, but I dont just randomly pick them up to play:
Lost Planet
Crackdown
Call of Duty 2
Gears of War
Test Drive Unlimited
Fight Night Round 3
Pro evo 6

All of those are enhanced hugely by co-op/multiplayer, to the extent that I don't really get a lot out of them if I am not playing with mates. XBL is a wonderful thing, but it's definitely taken the shine off single player for me. I suspect it will come to drive sales of new games. I got Gears a couple of months late and when I started playing online I was so far behind the other players that it wasn't fun. My first game, I scored negative points as the only kills I had were teammates. Fidgits got a torque bow in the back, as I recall. With Forza 2 coming, I don't even want to get it cheap online, 'cos I dont want to miss the first weekend and thus fall behind the basta^H^H^H^H^Hguys on here.

I've never really got on with Gears of War - I must get round to selling my copy whilst it is still worth something.
To be honest, the only thing that is stopping me selling the whole console is the fact that Halo 3 is due soon.

assasins creed and Bioshock look good too!
Of the games I've played, Oblivion has been by far the biggest, most impressive and time-consuming, Burnout Revenge the most fun and Gears of War the most disappointing.
Viva Pinata was recommended on another forum and while the visuals are for the children, the gameplay is hugely complex and addictive. Well worth a look.
Others dwelling in not bad/not good obscurity are Far Cry Instincts & Crackdown.
Dead rising was rubbish. Call of Duty 2 wasn't.

Games I've invested the most time and effort into, and which by definition are my favourite:
PGR3 (900 gamerpoints gained)
Condemned (700)
Oblivion (400, but more time spent on this than any other game!)
Test Drive Unlimited (870)
Crackdown (440 and still on the go)
And on top of that are some of the excellent arcade games.

Current games I have :
Oblivion : Big game, 100 hours in. Broken leveling system spoils an excelent game.
PGR3 : 'Completed' At silver, ace Arcade racer.
Dead rising : Disapointing so far, havnt played it enough to realy get into it, IMO demo was more fun.
GoW: Excelent new twist on a shooter, would be better in co-op I think. Single player too short, IMO HL2 or farcry are better.
LOTR, BFMEII : Almost works except control system isnt good enough to allow tactics, end up zerging. Would be better to be able to pause & issue commands to individual units.
Hitman : OK. moer of the same realy, some replay value.
CoD2: Classic WWII shooter done well.
Viva Pinata : Just plain wierd lol.
Looking forward to(most, and coming soon) :
Halo3
Mass Effect
Forza 2
Assasins creed
GTA IV
Bioshock

Forget Gears Of War, Oblivion, Crackdown or any of those big titles. The one game I've put the most amount of time into on 360 is probably one that none of you have heard of, it's called Earth Defense Force 2017. I've put in 87 hours and I'm still not bored. It's not the prettiest thing in the world, but there's just so much going on onscreen that I forgive it.
There's a trailer here:
www.pro-g.co.uk/xbox360/earth_defence_force_2017/videos.html
-Cheesy, over the top 50s/60s sci-fi
-No real story, just blow up everything
-Full destructible city, only the ground beneath you is left at the end of a battle
-100s and 100s of aliens on screen all at the same time
-motherships, giant robots, giant ants, spiders, space ships etc
-171 different weapons
-53 missions
-Attack Helicopters, speeder bikes, tanks and Mech Suit, all at your disposal

Dead Rising frustrated me with the appalling escort scenarios, I was trying to play through it saving everyone in the mall, but the ridiculous time limits in place and the fact that they couldn't navigate their way out of a paper bag left me frustrated beyond belief.
I had to stop playing it as the saving constraints meant that I'd have to repeat the same sections over and over with the same results.
Ignore the frustrating bits and just concentrate on maiming zombies and it was a highly enjoyable romp and a true showcase of what the 360 is capable of, especially down in the underground carpark.

What he said plus I really hated the controls. I really liked the premise but just found it too frustrating in the end. I'm glad I only rented it through Lovefilm. I had to stop playing it as the saving constraints meant that I'd have to repeat the same sections over and over with the same results.
