28 day ban, no points, £543 fine

The policeman pretty much gave me that ban and fine, sent a report over about how my driving had been and mentioned that despite being on the other side of the road I was being safe.

123.88mph was the official speed. 63.88mph above the limit.

So, it pays to always drive safely, it pays to tell the truth, be genuine and accept that you've been caught. Be organised and courteous and it goes a long way.

I really am massively pleased.

I also have the details for a lawyer who got a person off a ban while there who comes very highly regarded, so if anyone needs his details, i'll happily pass them on. I went in with no lawyer.

Dave!

Sounds like a reasonable result for indescretionate, but not dangerous, driving.

Where are you going on holiday then

123mph...and you're not dead? I thought that speed kills?!

Glad you're happy with the result - I hope the fine is reasonable for you.

Seems about on the money for that sort of speed.

I'm happy with the result, it matches my misdemeanur in my opinion, if only other courts were as sound and fair?

That actually sounds pretty reasonable. I guess my knee-jerk reaction is "he would be hung out to dry", but I'm pleased to be wrong.

Interesting what you say about being reasonable, measured and organised, and not using a lawyer. I wonder if we dig a hole for ourselves by trying to over-defend things which are clearly proven (although not, in our opinion, wrong.)

You'd be surprised what a good result you can get if you......

1. Admit it
2. Turn up
3. Wear a suit
4. Speak well on your own behalf; and
5. Apologise to the beak.

Completely takes them aback..........

hehe

You obviously didn't wear any hair products I think that is a fantastic result. You must have put on a very good show.

It's not speed that kills, it's the sudden lack of it ...

Can't say I'd be 'massively pleased' with your result, I would save that for if they had dropped the charges! But I suppose you could have got worse?!?

Just out of interest, why were you driving on the other side of the road?

Yeah right - 106 got me 55 day ban, 6 points and a £400 fine. Really consistent.

Was that recently? 1 or 2 offences?

110 up the A1 on a Fireblade, and undertook one car as he wouldn't move to the empty inside lane. Pulled by an unmarked BMW, got a stern talking to about the danger I could put myself in doing what I was doing, then got let off. How relieved was I! Only picked the bike up the previous evening as well.

How about

1. deny everything including what day it is
2. Wear a shellsuit, white trainers and burberry cap
3. unintelligible mumbling and slang
4. Tell beak to off
5. be a complete chav

would they let you off then?

28 days, £543 and a gold star for effort. Well done. That is proper speeding, none of this 36 in a 30 bollox.

The reaction to my 41 in a 30 in my wife's car multiplied by the extra 52 mph would be the sort of Bomb Iran has been trying to produce for a while now.

If Howitzer has a BETTER half I'm wondering what her reaction was when the NIP was first opened?

That's my driving credo......avoid minor speeding transgressions as a buffer against the day when I'll need all 12.

Nope, but you would get less of a fine.....
