It's been inferred a number of times on the forum, but I can't find any reference as to how to adjust the assistance in a PAS setup. I presume it comes from varying something, in the pump to alter the amount of fluid that is pumped.

I've got the PAS pump on the bench at present, ans had a quick look at the outlet where there seems to be a very fine jet and behind that a plunger with some shims in. Again I presume be altering something here you can increase or reduce the amount of assistance.

Has anyone any more info?

Regards
Iain

Fiat came up with a solution to this problem in their 1.2 Punto.
The assistance can be varied using a switch on the dash.
It's the ideal modification for petite ladies and the limp wristed amongst us.
It's called 'the Girly Button'.

That works cos they button turns the wick up on the electric PAS pump, a facility to which the Chim is to a deficit of one, anyway I'm looking to reduce the assistance a bit.
